Abstract submissions are Open

Abstract submission for AWCBR 2025 is now open. The submission portal will be active till 23 June 2025.

In keeping with previous years, we invite attendees to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentations. Our new flash talk format will also be returning.

Following the closure of submissions, all abstracts will be reviewed by the AWCBR committee.

Poster Presentations

Please can you adhere to poster dimensions of A0 paper in portrait orientation. The poster boards are 1.2m wide and 2.3m high and velcro dots will be provided at the conference registration desk for you to display your poster on the board.

The meeting convenor will contact you directly to advise if you poster has been accepted and when your poster session is being held.

All student and ECR (awarded in 2019 onwards, adjusted for career breaks) poster presentations will automatically be considered for a poster presentation prize

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will be held in a format limited to 10 minutes per presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions.

Please note that oral presentation spaces are limited and will be assigned at the discretion of the AWCBR committee.

All student oral presenters will automatically be entered for consideration for the Goddard Prize.
All ECR (awarded in 2019 onwards, adjusted for career breaks) oral presentations will automatically be considered for the ECR oral presentation prize

Flash Talks

Due to the great feedback from attendees, flash talks will be returning for another year!

This is your chance to showcase your research with a single PowerPoint slide (no animations) and a 90-second pitch to the conference audience. There will be no questions—just a concise, impactful presentation to highlight your poster. Don’t miss this opportunity to make your work stand out!

All abstracts accepted for a poster presentation will be required to give a flash talk to 'advertise' your poster prior to the poster session. All flash talks are eligable for the People' Choice Chocolate Fish Award

Abstract body should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts should be unstructured but must contain a statement of the problem (aim), brief methods, clear results, and a statement of the conclusions or significance of the findings. Abstracts will be reviewed and may be returned to the authors for modification.
